East Lancaster Neighborhood Area Partnership
Through the Neighborhood Partnership Program, South East Salem and Highland area neighbors and community partners have been making a difference where they live and work since 1997 and 2001, respectively. Now, for the first time since this program began, all neighborhood areas and/or community groups have the opportunity to be involved in a Neighborhood Partnership with the City in a restructured “Rotating Partnership” model. Through a competitive application process, the East Lancaster Neighborhood area was chosen as the first Rotating Partnership.
East Lancaster neighbors and partners have been meeting since January 2011. The group has been focusing on gathering needs and assets of the area and three goals have emerged.
- Facilitate community connections
- Support children and families.
- Promote a clean and safe environment.
The East Lancaster Area was chosen for an additional two years partnership support starting in January 2013. In their second term the group has decided to expand their boundaries to the north.
