Join Willamette University Assistant Professor of English, Teresa Hernández, for a talk and reading workshop on Latinx magical realism. Learn more about the genre of magical realism and how it has been used as a tool for political and social resistance from across Latin America, Europe, and the United States. Aside from providing a framework to engage the Salem Reads 2024 text, Zoraida Córdova’s The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina, the speaker will also provide additional reading suggestions for those interested in exploring the genres of Latinx fiction and magical realism. Free.
