The Salem Police Department provides fingerprinting and sex offender registry services in a limited scope. Please read further for more information.
Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting services are provided only for those individuals with an order from the Salem Municipal Court. Prints are taken on Monday and Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Appointments are not accepted. No fingerprinting services on holidays, and the hours are subject to change.
Sex offender registry
Registration Rules
All registered sex offenders must register in the county in which they reside. Registration must occur within ten days before or after the individual's birthday, or any of the following circumstances:
- Change in their legal name
- Change in their residence, including a move out-of-state
- Change in school, including out-of-state residents
Initial registrations (first registration in Oregon) must be completed within ten days of conviction or release from custody, or within 10 days upon moving into Oregon. Fingerprinting may be necessary on initial registrations.
All out-of-state residents who work in Oregon must register employment if they work more than 14 calendar days in this state.
International travel must be reported 21 days before travel occurs.
Registry Service Hours
Individuals required to register or update their information may do so in person at the Salem Police Station, 333 Division ST NE, on Mondays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. by appointment only.
Please note, appointments are not available on any Monday which is a holiday.
Fees
The Salem Police Department does not accept any of the required sex offender registry fees. Please contact Oregon State Police for payment.
