OFFICIAL RULES
All playing rules and regulations shall be governed by the USA Official Rules of Softball, 2024 Edition.
FORMAT
Three pool-play games followed by double-elimination bracket play.
GAME TIMES
The game times will be listed on the official tournament bracket. Teams need to be prepared to play at the assigned time. Failure to do so may result in a forfeit.
DUGOUTS
The team at the top of the bracket will use the first base dugout. The team at the bottom of the bracket will use the third base dugout.
LINE-UP CARDS
Tournament officials will provide official line-up cards for each team. An official line-up card must be submitted to the Official Scorekeeper at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled game, at the coin toss, to determine the home team. The coin toss shall be completed by the Tournament Directors or site coordinator at each playing site.
INFIELD PRACTICE
No infield practice is permitted during tournament play, and warm-up is allowed only in designated areas. Hitting or pitching on the grass is strictly prohibited at any time.
RUN RULE
A “run rule” of 15 after three innings, 12 after four innings, or 8 after five innings shall be in effect (USA Rule 5, Section 9).
DRESS CODE
Players on a team shall properly wear uniforms that are alike in color, trim, and style (USA Rule 3, Section 6, A–G). Coaches must be neatly attired and dressed alike or in a team uniform in accordance with the color code of the team.
CONDUCT
Managers and coaches are expected to have complete control of their players both on and off the playing field in accordance with the USA Official Rules of Softball, 2024 Edition.
PROTESTS
The tournament committee will rule on all protests. Proper protest procedures are included in USA Rule 9.
AWARDS
Awards shall be in accordance with Article 606 of the USA Procedural Code.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather, the game must be resumed at the exact point where it was suspended. It is the manager’s responsibility to report to the Tournament Director for rescheduling information. In the event the tournament cannot be completed within the scheduled time frame, the official order of finish will be determined in accordance with Article 310 of the USA Procedural Code.
SOUVENIRS
Souvenirs will be available at the Wallace Marine Softball Complex throughout the week and weekend.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following are prohibited in the softball complex, and an entry gate
monitor will be stationed to ensure compliance.

No outside food, beverages, or energy drinks. Exception: One unopened water bottle or sports drink.

No coolers, ice chests, or boxes. Exception: One team cooler with unopened water bottles, sports drinks, and fresh fruit.

No cans, glass bottles, or fireworks.

No animals or pets. Exception: Certified service animals.

No heelies, large riding toys, or distracting, noise-making toys.

No sunflower seeds
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
No bicycling, skateboarding, or rollerblading.
NO TOBACCO OR ALCOHOL USE
Alcohol, smoking, vaping, or use of tobacco products are not allowed in the Wallace Marine Park Softball Complex, Wallace Marine Park and parking lots, or any City of Salem park at any time.
