Friends of the Center 50+ was founded in 1992 and advocates for and supports the City of Salem Center 50+ which is a resource and community gathering place for individuals 50 and over and their caregivers. We value an age-friendly Salem where people can live and thrive for a lifetime. We believe the most important resource in Salem is the 50+ demographic, the group Center 50+ is designed to serve.

Our mission is to keep this vibrant group of people healthy, involved, and engaged so they can continue to fulfill their role in our community as leaders, supporters, mentors and catalysts of change. Friends have a long history of advocating for healthy aging in our community and provide vital funds to center 50+'s programs and services designed to improve one's independence, health and well-being:

Leave a Legacy-Endowment Fund

You can leave a long-term legacy by contributing to the Friends of the Center 50+ endowment.

An endowment consists of contributions whose principal is kept intact indefinitely, with only the earnings on that principal available to finance operations. Making a gift to the endowment is a way to make a lasting contribution to Center 50+. The fund is maintained by Oregon Charitable Community Fund. Friend’s of Center 50+ is frequently named in Wills and Bequests or annual giving plans.

Name a Room or Purchase a Tile on the Donor Wall

Contributions go directly to the Friends of Center 50+ growing endowment. Only the interest from the investment will be used toward operating costs. You can spread out the donation over several years. Permanent donor recognition begins at $250.
