Increase Your Skills with Center 50+ Classes
Lifelong Learning
Center 50+ is a non-membership community center that offers classes, services, health and wellness opportunities, meals, and special events to adults age 50 and better.
The Fisher Institute for Wellness and Gerontology, Ball State University concept of “7 dimensions of wellness” inspires Center 50+ lifelong learning programming. We encourage a holistic approach to wellness which involves continually learning and making choices that help you to life life to the fullest and to be your best self in a variety of ways.
Learning new hobbies and interests is a rewarding experience for adults of all ages. In addition, to fitness and computer classes, Center 50+ gives you the chance to develop or increase your knowledge and skills. Classes are taught by a variety of contractors and volunteers. Cohort program- Learning Together!
Focus is placed on learning how to balance the second half of life. As a member of the Center 50+ cohort program, you move from being a freshman to a senior all over again. Each year, you will join our set curriculum and then have the opportunity to select some other “electives”.
Here’s what the next four years include:
- Monthly Sessions
- Learning new things through shared experiences such a tour bus trips and special social events
- Gaining personal insight while studying about your community, city, state, and country
- Deeper understanding of brain health
- Building new friendships along the way
Join the next freshman class every fall. Look for registration in August 2022.
